Apartment BP

In a consolidated, degraded but already under renovation área of Lisbon, the urban and architectural surroundings of the building were taken into account in the design of this proposal, in this small scale apartment with great potential as short renting. The two objectives of this intervention were to provide the apartment with a bathroom, nonexistent inside of this building from 1937, and to renovate the interior space and patio, restoring the industrial character of that time. Conceptually, a central volume that divides and organizes the space will be created, but at the same time it will promote the continuity of the areas, their organization and a cleaner design of the space. The areas will look wider, be more functional and full of light. The use of sturdy and easy-to-maintain materials such as exposed brick, the steel of the new metal beams or the cement pavement, adds functionality to the space and respects the industrial character of the building.
